Quiet Day: Generous Discipleship: following Jesus with open hands

March 2, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

£5.00

Led by Andrew Clark, Baptist Pastor in Hertford

Venue: St Stephens Church, St Albans

About the day: As we consider the theme of a ‘Generous Discipleship’, we take a reflective look at the life of Jesus.  Our pattern and model for generosity flows from his life through the way he interacted with people, his lifestyle, his teaching and the ultimate giving of himself on the Cross.  How does the lens of generosity inform our following of Jesus in the 21st century, and what does it mean to live open-handed before God and others?  Through a mixture of teaching, spiritual exercises, silence and worship, we will explore these possibilities together as we prepare for Lent 2019.

Cost is £5 which includes drinks, but please bring a packed lunch. St Stephen’s Church and its grounds are available all day as part of this event.

Churches Together in Hertfordshire unites in pilgrimage those churches in the area which, acknowledging God’s revelation in Christ, confess the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord according to the Scriptures, and in obedience to God’s will and in the power of the Holy Spirit commit themselves:
To seek a deepening of their communion with Christ and with one another
in the Church, which is his body; and
To fulfil their mission to proclaim the Gospel by common witness and service in the world:

To the glory of one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
